Focusing on Client Value in 2021 through People, Process, and the Platform

Take a moment. Close your eyes. Think about 2021. How do you feel about the year ahead? What word comes to mind? 

For me personally, and I think for Kingland as a whole, that word is EXCITED. As we look forward, I think we’re all excited for what 2021 will bring. For Kingland, our excitement exists for many reasons. First and foremost, it’s built on a foundation of success in 2020. We were fortunate to have a strong business in 2020. We continued to grow and are now twice as large as we were five years ago. We added many new talented team members to our Kingland family, ran one of our largest intern programs, and did this while working remote due to the pandemic. We engaged with our clients and the industry at large on big problems such as the Consolidated Audit Trail (CAT) and evolving global compliance rules. We continued to increase our investment in our Platform with many new innovations in data automation, data management, and data discovery. We took time to give back to our communities. As unpredictable as 2020 was, Kingland accomplished a lot and you can see why we’re excited. 

For me, I love the word excitement - what it means and the potential it holds. From a child excited to open a gift to the excitement for the start of a big game, there's an energy being excited brings. In a company, excitement represents organizational energy, and the opportunity to harness that energy is important in improving our business. So what are we excited about in 2021? Here’s a quick 30,000-foot view of how we’re thinking about the three pillars of our Kingland Way - our People, our Process, and our Platform.

People

Our people make it happen. We’re going to continue to invest in our people and build out more data, technical, and industry expertise for our clients.

• Enabling clients to get more value from their data by bringing data to life in modern applications 
• Helping clients bridge the practical realities of legacy systems with the advantages of modern technologies, AI, and cloud 
• Identifying and injecting industry-specific trends and relevant market issues into the conversation with every interaction

Process

Our focus for 2021 will be using data to understand the areas that will improve client value. Not everyone gets excited about process, but we do.

Throughout the company, we have more than 700 processes, which have been key as we've scaled our business and delivered complex solutions time and time again. We're going to continue to invest in processes that deliver value for our clients. From quantitatively managing and monitoring projects, to benchmarking our software engineering practices against hundreds of thousands of other software engineers, process improvement is a way of life at Kingland. 

Platform

Our Platform is how we’re able to unlock the value of our clients’ data and operate in today's world of security and resiliency. As we look at 2021, we’re focused on three big themes for our Platform investment. 

By focusing on our People, our Process, and our Platform we’ve been able to consistently deliver for our clients, invest in new data and technology innovations and grow Kingland. Every year brings a new set of challenges that are hard to predict, but we’re excited for what 2021 will bring and confident that with focus, it will be a great year.
